Care and Maintenance
Castle Rock is a nonporous solid composition that makes it easy to live and work with for the lifetime of your top.
Preventing Heat Related Damages:
All solid surface materials have limits of durability, particularly to heat. Caution and common sense must be advised when attempting to place hot objects directly on any solid surface composition. Always use a trivet, cloth or other protective device when placing heated objects on the surface. Other items that need to have protection underneath are: toaster ovens, crock pots, electric frying pans and other related heat generating devices. Solid surface will take much abuse regarding heat but colors may dissipate if care is not taken. Avoid harsh chemicals like drains cleaners, paint removers, and oven cleaners.
Never cut directly onto any solid surface counter top. In most cases nicks, scratches and cuts are easily removed with a Scotch Brite™ pad or sand paper.
If the damage is minimal, try to repair the surface with an abrasive cleanser.
If this does not work try a 400 grit wet then dry sandpaper attempt.
If damage is beyond repair then a new section can be added on site to existing top.
Daily Care:
For general cleaning just use soap and water or any ammonia based household cleaners. For stubborn stains you may use a mild abrasive. |
