Kit Contains:
Cups, stirrer, resin and accelerator.
Accelerator is clear, resin will be similar to color of top.
Caution: Materials are flammable, proper precautions should be taken to ensure safety.
Ratio of mix is: 98% resin to 2% accelerator.
How to mix one seam joint:
Mark inside of cup to ½".
Pour resin into cup to line mark.
This amount will make one to two full 26" long joints. Prefer to pour one joint at a time unless you are ready and setup to pour two.
Fill supplied cup to 1/2" with resin
Add 24 drops from accelerator applicator to cup and stir/mix. Use plastic pole to mix and wipe clean when done. You should use mixture within 5 minutes of mix. When mixture begins to gel, discard mix.
NOTE: Too much accelerator will cook the mix, too little will not allow mixture to cure. Paint [with stick supplied] or pour mixture on both sides of top edge to be joined.
Slightly tighten clamps until mixture rises out of joint.
Do not over tighten. Too tight will force mixture out of seam.
You may remove excess with plastic mixer or similar tool after mix begins to harden usually in 10 minutes, depending on temperature. Temperature will effect curing time.
You may also leave excess on and just sand to finish.
Check joint after 30 minutes for hardness. You may remove clamps and polish the stone top.
NOTE: If you are placing cooking appliance such as cook top in counter top, surround the entire underside of top with metal heat tape. All joints need to be 3" minimum away from these types of openings.
Once top is completed, use supplied 1" particle board and place around entire under side perimeter of the top with spray adhesive contact glue or other type of quick drying adhesive glue. This will help to strengthen top and is required. Cut wood as required. Place top on cabinets or surface and secure with screws into particle board. |
